In 2022, shower program volunteers and guests from the Shower Program came together to revitalize the Community Garden on the grounds of St. Luke’s. With the generous support of dedicated church members, a simple vision to create a shared growing space has blossomed into a nurturing garden rooted in service, sustainability, and community connection.
Today, the garden produces a variety of fresh vegetables, herbs, and seasonal crops that are sometimes incorporated into meals prepared and served to guests at the Shower Program. This meaningful connection between cultivation and nourishment reflects our larger mission: to care for the whole person by providing not only resources, but dignity, opportunity, and community.
The St. Luke’s Community Garden is more than a place to grow food. It is a place where relationships are cultivated and community is developed.
Volunteers, church members, and Shower Program guests work side by side to plant, water, weed, harvest, and maintain the garden. Through this shared work, participants develop new skills, spend meaningful time outdoors, and contribute directly to something that benefits the broader community.

Ways to support the garden:

The St. Luke’s Community Garden is one of many ways our community comes together to create meaningful solutions rooted in compassion and service. By growing fresh foods and encouraging community, we nourish both body and spirit.
Together, we are planting seeds of hope, one harvest at a time.
